In winter, the composition of the avifauna on Naxos changes considerably. The migratory birds leave the island and are replaced by winter visitors. Robins, black redstarts, blackbirds, song thrushes, siskins, goldfinches, meadow pipits and sparrowhawks are particularly common, but many of the other species listed can also be observed regularly.
