Unsere Ferienh\u00e4user liegen dort, wo die bewirtschaftete K\u00fcstenebene zu Ende geht und die H\u00fcgel bis zum Meer vorsto\u00dfen.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/photos\/azalas\/area\/agios_dimitris_village-1.jpg\" alt=\"die Siedlung \u00c1gios Dim\u00edtris\"><\/p>\n<h3>die winzige Siedlung \u00c1gios Dim\u00edtris<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/photos\/azalas\/area\/view_azalas-2.jpg\" alt=\"die Bucht von Azalas\"><\/p>\n<h3>Blick \u00fcber unsere Bucht<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><small>Auf dem zweiten Bild sieht man die Kapelle \u00c1gios Dim\u00edtrios und die Ferienh\u00e4user Azal\u00e1s rechts von der kleinen Insel in der Bildmitte.<\/small><\/div>\n<div>Die k\u00fcstennahe Ebene zwischen Moutso\u00fana und \u00c1gios Dim\u00edtris ist extensiv bewirtschaftet mit Getreidefeldern, die von den Hirten als Weidefl\u00e4chen f\u00fcr die Schafe genutzt werden und sich im Fr\u00fchling oft in ein Bl\u00fctenmeer verwandeln. In den kargeren Gebieten am Fu\u00df der H\u00fcgel liegen alte, aufgegebene Olivenhaine. Viele nicht mehr bewirtschaftete Fl\u00e4chen sind von <a href=\"http:\/\/azalas.de\/phrygana\/\">Phrygana<\/a> aus niedrigen Str\u00e4uchern \u00fcberwachsen. Hier und da stehen noch die alten Steinh\u00e4user, in denen die Hirten und Bauern bis etwa zur Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts wohnten. In Moutso\u00fana gibt es einen gut ausgestatteten Minimarkt; im Sommer sind direkt am Hafen mehrere Tavernen ge\u00f6ffnet, in denen man sch\u00f6n essen kann. In Ap\u00edranthos gibt es vier kleine, sehenswerte Museen. Das \u00e4lteste Bauwerk der Insel ist eine befestigte Siedlung aus der Fr\u00fchen Bronzezeit, die vor allem durch die ber\u00fchmten Kykladenidole bekannt wurde. Aus der griechischen Antike stammen unter anderem die \u00dcberreste eines gro\u00dfen Tempels des Dionysos, als dessen Heimat Naxos galt, ein teilweise restaurierter Tempel der Demeter sowie unvollendete Monumentalstatuen und ein Wehrturm aus der hellenistischen Epoche. Auch aus der byzantinischen Zeit gibt es bedeutende Denkm\u00e4ler auf der Insel: zahlreiche Kl\u00f6ster und Kirchen mit alten Fresken, beispielsweise eine der \u00e4ltesten Kirchen des Balkanraumes, Panag\u00eda Drosian\u00ed bei Moni, oder die beeindruckende Kirche \u00c1gios Ge\u00f3rgios Diasor\u00edtis bei Chalk\u00ed mit fast vollst\u00e4ndig erhaltenen Wandmalereien. Weniger bekannt aber nicht weniger eindrucksvoll ist das gro\u00dfe byzantinische Kastro Apal\u00edrou.
